Your Well Being Tip of the Day
Your Well Being Tip of the Day
Be aware of your breathing. Notice how this takes attention away from your thinking and creates space. Breathe in, breathe out.

Healthy and Delicious Summer Treats!

Exotic Fruit Spritzer

Exotic Fruit SpritzerSpritzers are a natural pop that everyone in the family can enjoy. Look for good quality organic juices such as apple and pear juice in season or other more exotic fruit flavours such as suggested here! Spritzers allow you to enjoy maximum flavor without the sugar, caffeine, colouring and preservatives in pop.

1 carton guava, passion fruit or mango juice
1 bottle good quality natural mineral water

In a tall, elegant pitcher, mix half fruit juice and half mineral water. Add ice cubes, fruit for garnish if you like, and a swizzle stick. Pour into tall glasses.

Serves four.

Chocolate Smoothie

This recipe is the perfect solution for chocolate cravings anytime. The cocoa is very high in antioxidants and so you can get the benefits and full flavor in this smoothie – without the damaging fats and sugars that come with regular chocolate.

1 frozen banana, chopped into 1 inch pieces
100 grams soft tofu
2-3 cups soy, rice, almond or oat milk
1 Tbsp fresh flax oil (for an immune system booster)
1 Tbsp cocoa powder (add more to taste)
1-2 teaspoons honey, maple syrup or other sweetener (to taste)

Blend ingredients together in a blender or use a hand blender. Voila! If you like, sprinkle with nutmeg before you serve.

Serves two.

Lee Recommends "Excuses Begone"

Excuses BegoneDr. Wayne Dyer’s newest book is powerful. It’s all about how to change lifelong self-defeating thinking habits (which he calls excuses). First he shares the most cutting edge research that proves we can change anything about our minds. Then, he uses the life altering questions created by Byron Katie to help readers recognize that they can choose to be or do anything they want to. These are the same life altering questions that I’ve used to radically improve my life, and shared with each of my clients - then watched them radically improve their own!

Read "Excuses Begone" and discover which of the most common 18 excuses are preventing you from living at your highest level of success, health and happiness; and use these revolutionary questions to awaken to your infinite possibilities and the fire of your brilliance.

Enthusiasm – The Electricity of Life!

Enthusiasm – The Electricity of Life!Unlike stress, enthusiasm has a high energy frequency and so resonates with the creative power of the Universe. This is why Ralph Waldo Emerson said that "Nothing great has ever been achieved without enthusiasm".

Enthusiasm is a powerful force. It brings energy to your day and attracts positive people and experiences to you. Negativity, pessimism, and worry drain your energy. When you focus on the positive in each situation it is easier to get things done. When you are doing things you are passionate about you can convince others to join your cause because they are attracted to your enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is contagious!

Each day do something, no matter how small, towards meeting a goal that feels meaningful to you – something you are passionate about. Each step that brings you nearer to your goal creates a more positive attitude and greater enthusiasm.

What are you enthusiastic, excited or passionate about? If you don’t know, ask for help (coaches, mentors, guides, best friends). Go and play somewhere or go on retreats to renew your energy – sometimes that is all that is needed to get in touch with your passion! Enthusiasm is within ALL of us. Make it a self-care and wellness priority! It’s what life is all about.

Ten Summer Fun Ideas!

  1. Go to the park, or the zoo - Pack a picnic lunch, invite some friends and have fun.

  2. Go fishing - Dust off that old fishing pole and take yourself and/or your kids fishing. Learn the different types of fish that they could catch. What types of bait to use. Don’t forget that fishing license.

  3. Go biking - Pack a small backpack with water, snacks, and drinks. Rent a bike if your bike needs a tune-up and you’d rather just go once or twice.

  4. Go hiking - Hit those trails and start walking. Find some trails that you’ve never been on before.

  5. Study the architecture of buildings and walk around town. Take photos or draw the different designs.

  6. Go to your Public Library - They have many great things going on all summer long. Summer reading clubs are common, and libraries are a great place for exploring and research of course. And they usually have Air Conditioning on those very hot summer days.

  7. Work on a skit or play with your neighborhood kids. Plan out a stage and costumes and invite the rest of the neighborhood for the production.

  8. Go to the farmers market to see all the vendors and fresh produce.

  9. Do community service work - Pick up litter in a park, work in a shelter serving food, or contact someone to find out where they would need help that the whole family could get involved in.

  10. Start a hobby or craft - Learn how to sew, cross-stitch, paint, play an instrument, horse-back riding, build a model car.

Claiming Fabulous You!

Here are some lines from Walt Whitman to remind you that you are much more than you appear to be or think you are:

O I could sing such grandeurs and glories about you!
You have not known what you are,
You have slumber’d upon yourself all your life,
Your eyelids have been the same as closed most of the time …

Whoever you are claim your own at any hazard!
These shows of the East and West are tame compared to you,
These immense meadows, these interminable rivers, you are
immense and interminable as they ...

Powerful Claiming Questions for You

Who are you?
What do you want?
What is needed to claim this?

A Note From the Universe

Note From the UniverseIt’s supposed to be easy. Everything is supposed to be easy. Everything is easy. You live in a dream world. You're surrounded by illusions. And the illusions change when you change your thinking!

Tell yourself it's easy. Tell yourself often. Make it a mantra. Eat, sleep, and breathe it. And your life shall be transformed.
It's supposed to be easy,

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

… Marcel Proust

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude for those who have lighted the flame within us.

SUMMER LOVE NOTES

To see the Summer Sky
Is Poetry, though never
in a Book it lie -
True Poems flee.

… Emily Dickinson

Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world.

… Ada Louise Huxtable

Press close, bare-bosomed Night! Press close, magnetic,
nourishing Night!
Night of south winds!
Night of the large,
few stars!
Still, nodding Night!
Mad, naked,
Summer Night!

… Walt Whitman

Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.

… Henry James

BE A KID AGAIN

Spend an hour with a child today, taking note of how much wisdom is embodied in what appears to be juvenile behavior and beliefs. Notice his or her fascination with seemingly insignificant items, repeating the same senseless phrase, tantrums, or laughter. Jot down your impressions of the wisdom behind such so-called childish impulses and vow to be a kid again as frequently as possible.
